It’s a HIT! Clinical Decision Support Success in Community Health Centers

Categories: Provider Spotlight

Open Door Family Medical Center is using Clinical Decision Support to make pro-active, evidence-based decisions about patient treatment. Preliminary results from an ongoing Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) study show the mean percentage of visits in which hypertension was controlled was significantly greater in the post intervention period compared with the control period (38% vs 43%, p<.001).

PCDC supports the project by helping staff and providers redesign and document new workflows, manage and customize data, train staff, and evaluate outcomes. This study’s research partners are NYU School of Nursing & Dentistry and Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
