When it is available, accessible, and affordable, primary care is a cornerstone of vibrant, thriving communities and helps keep families healthy, children ready to learn, and adults able to pursue education and participate in the workforce. Yet New York and the U.S. as a whole continue to undervalue and underfund it, leaving many New Yorkers without access to high-quality primary care in their own communities. The Primary Care Investment Act would change that by increasing investment in primary care, thus expanding access to high-quality care and improving health outcomes for all people across New York State.
